Pioneer Packaging offers several types of carton packaging for food products.
Cartons are a common way to safely and effectively package food products for the retail shelf. The Carton Council recently partnered with Earth911 Inc. to help increase awareness regarding carton recycling. By using and recycling carton packaging, businesses and consumers can take advantage of the carton’s safe, durable and convenient packaging features while helping to reduce waste.
Types of Cartons
The types of cartons available include refrigerated cartons and shelf-stable cartons. Refrigerated cartons often contain such products as milk, juice, cream, egg substitutes, and soy and grain milk. They contain about 80% paper and 20% polyethylene. Shelf-stable cartons contain about 74% paper, 22% polyethylene and 4% aluminum, and contain products such as wine, soups and broths, milk, and juice.
The Benefits of Cartons
Cartons boast a classic, familiar design that most customers recognize right away – letting them know that the package is reliable. Easy-to-open lids and spouts help increase convenience, and their simple shape is easy to ship and store. Because cartons are made primarily with paper materials, they are lightweight and can help reduce energy and fuel costs. In addition, cartons are easily recyclable.
Recycling Cartons
Cartons can be placed in curbside recycling bins for easy recycling, or taken to a local recycling drop-off center. Recycled cartons are transformed into raw materials, which can be turned into various paper products and building materials. Recycle cartons, reduce waste and have a positive impact on the environment!
