POP Displays – Styles
Counter Top Display. Any display intended to rest on a counter. These displays are often near the cashier but may be placed anywhere. Popular types include -
- Literature Holders
- Easels
- Trays with Dividers
- Shipper Displays
Power Wing Display. A display that is hung or attached to the end cap of an aisle-shelving unit. Popular types include -
- Vertical and/or Horizontally Partitioned Tray
- Gravity Feed Dispenser
Floor Stand Display. – A freestanding display that requires floor space. Popular types include -
- Tiered Trays
- Single Upright Tray (usually partitioned)
- Dump Bin (product randomly placed in display)
- Weekender (one piece with integrated shelves)
Pallet Display. A display that remains on the pallet it shipped on and requires floor space. Popular types include a wide variety of trays with supporting dividers. Pallet displays are typically used in club stores.
Standees. A free standing shape of a person or character typically used to promote movies, games, music or other media. Popular types include -
- Single Easel Support that folds in half or in thirds
- Double Easel Support that folds in half or in thirds
POP Displays – Industry Terms and Definitions
Base – Bottom portion / pedestal of a floor stand display that the tray(s) rest on and are secured to.
Filler – Internal pieces that are required to fill any void in the shipper to prevent movement of the display during transit.
Header Card – Signage that is at the top (usually attached to the tray) of the display to attract attention and convey the main message.
Instruction Sheet – A separate piece of paper depicting how to assemble the display using sketches, wording, or both.
KDF – A display that is shipped “knocked-down-flat” either in the same box as the product or in its own shipper separate from the product.
Partitions / Dividers – Pieces that are placed in the tray to create smaller areas or “pockets” that the product fits into.
Pre-packed – A display that is either completely assembled or mostly assembled with the product in place before being packed into the shipper.
Shipper – Outer box that the display is packed into for shipment.
Supports – Pieces (usually not seen) that assist in the structural integrity of the display.
Tray – Portion(s) of the display that the product sits in – may or may not be partitioned (divided).
